Launch of new children's carriages

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: Ukrzaliznytsia is launching new children's carriages in partnership with Visa. As part of this project, six children's compartment carriages will undergo major restoration. The first three carriages have already entered service, and all are designed in the thematic concept 'Fairy Tale Ukrainian Forest'.

Tickets for these carriages are available only in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, marked as 'Children's'. It is worth noting that children up to 5 years old can travel for free. In 2023, the railway will also receive 60 new passenger carriages to be produced in Ukraine.

Oleksiy Balesta, a representative of Ukrzaliznytsia, noted: 'Children must remain at the center of our attention, especially in such difficult times. This project is a great example of how, during the war, we can give children comfortable and safe travel. At the same time, the state continues to renew the rolling stock. This year, the railway will receive 60 new passenger carriages manufactured at Ukrainian facilities, which means better conditions for passengers and support for the national industry.'

Routes of the new children's carriages

The new children's carriages will operate on routes including:

  • №011/012 Lviv - Odesa
  • №001/002 Kharkiv - Ivano-Frankivsk

This initiative aims to provide children with comfortable and safe conditions during their travels.

The launch of new children's carriages is an important step in supporting the younger generation and their needs for comfortable travel, especially in wartime conditions. It also promotes the development of domestic tourism and enhances the level of service on the railway. Ukrzaliznytsia's initiative, along with the production of new carriages in Ukraine, emphasizes the importance of national industry and social responsibility in a difficult time for the country.

In addition to the launch of new children's carriages, Ukrzaliznytsia has also made important adjustments to the regional train schedules for April. These changes aim to enhance travel convenience for passengers, ensuring that families and children can benefit from improved services during their journeys. As the railway company continues to focus on meeting the needs of its younger travelers, the adjustments reflect a commitment to providing safe and efficient travel options across the network.
