Ukrzaliznytsia’s New Rolling Stock

According to Кулеба: Ukrzaliznytsia has taken delivery of three brand-new passenger cars, which are now heading out on their inaugural journeys to Dnipro and Uzhhorod. Manufactured at a Ukrainian facility, these cars involved over 150 domestic suppliers and producers in their construction. The new rolling stock will be deployed on trains No. 29/30 (Kyiv–Uzhhorod) and No. 3/4 (Zaporizhzhia–Uzhhorod via Dnipro).

Fleet Growth and Modernization

Since the start of the year, Ukrzaliznytsia’s passenger car fleet has grown by 15 units. Under a state-backed program, a total of 100 new cars are scheduled for phased delivery by May 2028. This systematic renewal of passenger cars aims to make travel across Ukraine more comfortable and efficient.

The expansion of Ukrzaliznytsia’s passenger car fleet marks a significant step toward improving rail service quality in Ukraine. By sourcing from local manufacturers, the initiative also bolsters the national economy and supports industrial development. These efforts reflect the government’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure and enhancing passenger convenience in the years ahead.

As Ukrzaliznytsia continues to enhance its services, the recent addition of new passenger cars complements the recently restored direct train connection between Dnipro and Kharkiv. This move not only improves travel options for passengers but also underscores the ongoing efforts to modernize the railway infrastructure across Ukraine.
