Introducing the New Flagship Train 'Yaroslav the Wise'

According to УНІАН — Туризм: Ukrzaliznytsia has launched its latest flagship service, train number 51/52, named 'Yaroslav the Wise,' connecting Kyiv and the Polish city of Przemyśl. This train features brand-new carriages, including an inclusive compartment designed to enhance comfort for all passengers. Departures from Kyiv are scheduled at 20:12, with arrivals in Przemyśl at 5:00. The return journey leaves Przemyśl at 22:30, reaching Kyiv by 9:15.

A Route Steeped in History and Enhanced Security Measures

The 'Yaroslav the Wise' route retraces part of the historic line between Lviv and Przemyśl, originally inaugurated on November 4, 1861, marking the beginning of railway travel in Ukraine. The first 'Yaroslav' train connected Vienna and Lviv, and this new service pays homage to that legacy while strengthening Ukraine’s connections with Europe. Ukrzaliznytsia highlights that:

“Convenient transfers are available in Przemyśl to major cities including Warsaw, Wrocław, Prague, and Berlin.”

Alongside the train’s debut, Ukrzaliznytsia has updated its safety protocols, announced on October 29, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance passenger security. Additionally, on October 21, new international trains began operating from Kyiv and Dnipro to Polish cities Chełm and Przemyśl. For example, the Kyiv to Chełm train departs at 21:48 and arrives at 08:08.

Since October 16, the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app provides real-time data on average evacuation stops and train delays, helping travelers plan more effectively. These improvements reflect Ukrzaliznytsia’s commitment to upgrading transport services and ensuring safer, more reliable journeys.

The introduction of the 'Yaroslav the Wise' train marks a significant advancement in rail connectivity between Ukraine and Europe, with the potential to boost tourism and economic ties. The simultaneous focus on safety protocol revisions and enhanced app features underscores Ukrzaliznytsia’s dedication to passenger comfort and security-an especially vital priority amid current challenges. These developments are expected to foster greater trust in Ukraine’s rail system among passengers.

In addition to the launch of the 'Yaroslav the Wise' train, Ukrzaliznytsia has recently introduced new international routes, enhancing travel options for passengers. This includes connections from Kyiv and Dnipro to various Polish cities, significantly expanding the network.
