Adjustments to Passenger and Commuter Train Routes

According to Главком: Due to temporary movement restrictions on certain railway sections in the Kyiv region, Ukrainian Railways has rerouted several passenger and commuter trains. These safety measures were introduced by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES). The restrictions follow a large-scale Russian attack on the night of July 6, 2026, and its aftermath.

The changes affect commuter services on the Fastiv line, as well as a number of long-distance trains, including:

  • No. 93 Kharkiv – Kholm
  • No. 134 Kamianets-Podilskyi – Kyiv
  • No. 94 Kholm – Kharkiv
  • No. 43 Dnipro – Ivano-Frankivsk
  • No. 104 Lviv – Lozova

To keep passengers moving despite the rail disruptions, Ukrainian Railways, together with the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, has set up a shuttle bus service between Boyarka and Kyiv.

“On some railway sections in the Kyiv region, the SES has restricted train movement for security reasons. As a result, we are activating backup detour routes,” a Ukrainian Railways spokesperson stated.

Passengers planning trips on the affected routes can use the new bus connections as an alternative. Ukrainian Railways continues to monitor the situation closely and is prepared to make further schedule adjustments if needed.

Given the current train movement restrictions, it is crucial for passengers to stay informed about the updated travel conditions and possible route changes. The introduction of bus services is a temporary measure aimed at minimizing inconvenience for travelers. By responding quickly to the situation, Ukrainian Railways shows its ability to adapt to new security challenges facing the country.

In light of the recent adjustments to train routes, travelers may also find it beneficial to check out the newly added connections for weekend journeys. Ukrainian Railways has introduced an extra train service between Kyiv and Lviv, ensuring more options for those planning weekend trips. This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts to enhance travel flexibility amid the current disruptions.
