Ukrzaliznytsia Announces Revised Train Schedule

According to Главком: Ukraine's state railway operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, has updated its schedule, making train No. 54/53 between Odesa and Dnipro a daily service. This change takes effect on February 22-23, 2023, and tickets for the daily trips are now available for purchase starting at 199 UAH. This enhancement is part of broader efforts to improve domestic rail connectivity, which has seen increased demand since the full-scale invasion.

Daily departures from Odesa will begin on February 22, with daily services from Dnipro starting on February 23. The train's route includes several key stations, such as:

• Voznesensk
• Pomichna
• Kropyvnytskyi
• Znamianka
• Oleksandriia
• Kamianske

Tickets can be purchased via the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app, on the booking.uz.gov.ua website, or at station ticket offices.

Experimental State Order Mechanism for Rail Transport

The schedule revision was announced as part of an update conducted on February 20. Separately, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a decision to implement an experimental state order mechanism for domestic passenger rail transport. These initiatives are designed to improve the accessibility of rail travel for passengers.

The schedule changes are part of Ukrzaliznytsia's strategy to enhance transport services for citizens, particularly given the heightened demand for domestic travel.

The introduction of daily service on the Odesa-Dnipro route will allow passengers to plan their journeys more easily and will increase the convenience and comfort of travel. Furthermore, the experimental state order mechanism for transportation could form the basis for future reforms in Ukraine's railway sector.
