According to Главком: Ukrzaliznytsia has issued an operational update on train service modifications effective February 27, prompted by security conditions in several regions. The national railway operator has imposed travel restrictions in the following areas:

• Kherson Oblast
• Sumy Oblast
• Chernihiv Oblast
• Kharkiv Oblast
• Donetsk Oblast
• Zaporizhzhia

Conversely, railway service is being strengthened in Odesa Oblast. These adjustments are part of ongoing efforts to maintain critical transport links while prioritizing passenger safety amid regional instability.

Regional Service Details

In Kherson Oblast, train operations are being managed according to current security assessments. For Sumy and Chernihiv Oblasts, regional trains are temporarily running only to and from Konotop. Commuter service on the Nizhyn route is operating on adapted schedules. In Kharkiv Oblast, bus transfers are replacing rail service from Lozova towards Kramatorsk; however, train No. 101/102 Barvinkove – Kherson is guaranteed to wait for connecting passengers from Kramatorsk. Regional express trains on the Izium route continue to run as scheduled.

In Zaporizhzhia, power supply disruptions followed overnight shelling. Commuter trains are running, but delays of up to an hour are possible, with no cancellations currently reported. Due to the security situation, service to and from Dnipro-Holovny station is temporarily limited for four trains. Travel between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia is currently being handled primarily by bus transfers.

Ukrzaliznytsia also announced enhanced railway connections in Odesa Oblast, responding to severe weather and energy challenges. Train No. 54/53 Odesa – Dnipro will now run daily. The schedule for the popular train No. 21/22 Kharkiv – Lviv is being adjusted to better serve three regional centers.
