Ukrzaliznytsia significantly reduced ticket sales to Zaporizhzhia: what are the conditions

Ukrzaliznytsia has not canceled trains to Zaporizhzhia, but has changed ticket sales due to increased Russian attacks on the railway infrastructure. Now, tickets will not be available for all dates at once, but only for a controlled period. 

This was reported by the head of the passenger direction of UZ, Oleksandr Shevchenko, in a comment to UNIAN.

Ticket sales to Zaporizhzhia will now be opened gradually

The lack of seats for distant dates does not mean that the train has been canceled. Ukrzaliznytsia will sell tickets for separate trains and for a shorter period, and new dates will be added based on the safety situation.

This approach will allow the railway to respond quickly to threats, adjust the organization of movement, and avoid selling tickets in advance for routes that may need changes. Passengers are advised to regularly check the Ukrzaliznytsia app and the carrier's website.

According to Oleksandr Shevchenko, attacks on railway facilities in the Zaporizhzhia region have increased. The company has intensified monitoring of air threats to stop movement or evacuate people in case of danger in a timely manner.

Trains to Zaporizhzhia remain, buses are a backup option

Railway communication with Zaporizhzhia continues to operate. At the same time, Ukrzaliznytsia, along with the Zaporizhzhia OVA, maintains a backup scenario with bus transfers on the 'last mile' principle.

This means that in case of a sharp deterioration of the situation, passengers can be taken by bus from a safe station to Zaporizhzhia or in the opposite direction. Such a mechanism allows for continuous communication without complete interruption.

It is now better to plan a trip to Zaporizhzhia closer to the departure date and allow extra time for transfers. If there are no tickets available for the desired day, it is advisable to check back later: Ukrzaliznytsia may open sales after assessing the safety situation.
