According to Главком: The Ukrainian Premier League has released the calendar for the 2026/27 season, which kicks off on August 1. Defending champions Shakhtar Donetsk will begin their campaign with an away match against Kudrivka. On the same day, Kyiv's Dynamo will face city rivals Livyi Bereh in a capital derby.

Two classic Shakhtar-Dynamo encounters are scheduled during the season. The first clash takes place in Round 12, tentatively set for November 7, while the second is planned for Round 27 on May 15. This gives fans two opportunities to witness these high-stakes showdowns.

Awards and Team Changes

The UPL has also announced lists of the best young players and coaches. The award for the league's top young footballer was first presented at the end of the 2010/11 season, with Yevhen Konoplyanka of Dnipro becoming the inaugural winner. As for coaches, Mircea Lucescu received the first honor in 2008/09 and remains the record holder with seven awards.

Additionally, Kharkiv-based Metalist 1925 has rebranded as Kharkiv. In the 2025/26 Ukrainian Cup final, Dynamo defeated Chernihiv, with Vitaliy Buyalskyi scoring a brace and Andriy Yarmolenko netting the third goal.
