Transfer of state property for internally displaced persons

According to Кабмін: The government of Ukraine is transferring state property for the resettlement of internally displaced persons. A total of 112 premises have been transferred, including residential buildings, hotel office premises, and public leisure buildings. This decision aims to provide housing for people affected by the conflict who have been forced to leave their homes.

The premises will be distributed by the end of January, and it is expected that people will be able to use the housing as early as the first quarter of 2026. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MoES) is to review objects that have not been used for their intended purpose in the educational process over the past year. A corresponding mechanism has been created for the transfer of assets to new managers for a symbolic price of 1 hryvnia.

Further steps and initiatives

In the coming month, all ministries are to prepare an additional list of objects that can be used for the needs of internally displaced persons. The process of coordinating this initiative has been taken over by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

As Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated: 'We are transferring state property and objects under the management of ARMA for the resettlement of internally displaced persons. The premises should not be idle; they should be effectively involved for the benefit of the people.'

This initiative is part of the efforts of the Ukrainian government aimed at supporting internally displaced persons who find themselves in difficult living conditions due to the conflict in the country. The transfer of state residential property for housing purposes aims not only to provide temporary housing but also to facilitate the social integration of people who have lost their homes. Given the duration of the process, it is important that all stages of implementing the program are completed on time and with maximum benefit for the affected citizens.

She also added: 'We expect that people will be able to use this housing as early as the first quarter of 2026.'
