State Enterprise to Undergo Restructuring

According to Главком: The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved the reorganization of the state enterprise that publishes the 'Uriadovyi Kurier' (Government Courier) newspaper. It will be converted into a limited liability company named 'Editorial Office of the Newspaper 'Uriadovyi Kurier''. Under the new structure, the state will retain 100% ownership of the new LLC's charter capital.

Steps in the Reorganization Process

A commission will be appointed to oversee the conversion of the state enterprise into an LLC. The government is also tasked with developing a detailed transformation plan for the enterprise, which must be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval according to established procedures. As stated in the Cabinet's directive:

“Develop a draft plan for the transformation of the enterprise and submit it for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in accordance with the established procedure.”

Furthermore, the enterprise's creditors will have a two-month window to submit their claims, starting from the day the reorganization decision is officially announced. According to the government order:

“Set a period of two months from the date of publication of the notice on the decision regarding the reorganization through the transformation of the enterprise for creditors to state their claims to the enterprise by sending them in writing to the postal address of the enterprise.”

This reorganization of the 'Uriadovyi Kurier' editorial office represents a significant step in the structural reform of Ukraine's state media sector. The move is part of broader efforts to modernize state-owned assets and improve their operational efficiency. The 'Uriadovyi Kurier' is an official government publication that disseminates legal acts and government news.

This restructuring may indicate the government's attempt to optimize the management of state media by adopting a more flexible corporate structure suited to modern conditions. The retention of 100% state ownership suggests an intent to maintain control over this official information channel. The subsequent steps in implementing the transformation plan and the response from creditors will be crucial for the financial stability of the new company.
