Ukrainian Prime Minister’s Visit to Vinnytsia Region

According to Кабмін: Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko made a working trip to Vinnytsia Oblast, where discussions centered on heating season preparations, business support, and maintaining social stability. During a meeting that included members of parliament, the head of the regional military administration (OVA), the regional council, and the mayor of Vinnytsia, a field session of the government was convened.

Key Topics on the Agenda

The talks covered several critical issues, notably readiness for the upcoming heating season. The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Development, and the Ministry of Energy were tasked with drafting amendments to budget legislation that would allow unused local budget balances to be redirected toward alternative energy sources. The government also explored the possibility of supplying surplus electricity from solar installations at public institutions to other facilities within the same community.

Additionally, the Cabinet instructed the Ministries of Finance, Education and Science, and Social Policy to develop mechanisms for compensating wage costs for workers in education, social services, and rehabilitation centers. A particularly pressing matter-salaries for staff at district military administrations-remains under the oversight of the Ministry of Finance.

Under the eRecovery program, over 500 applications for funding have already been registered in the region. The Ministry of Development has been directed to address the transfer of unfinished construction projects from the balance of the Vinnytsia OVA to municipal ownership of local communities.

“We continue systematic work with the regions. The resilience and capacity of communities are among the government’s priorities.”

Yuliia Svyrydenko

This visit by the Prime Minister to Vinnytsia marked a significant step in readying the region for winter, while also advancing support for the social sphere and businesses.

The Prime Minister’s trip underscores the urgency of preparing for the heating season, especially amid the energy challenges facing the country. The government’s strategy-focused on bolstering local budgets and the social sector-could have a substantial impact on regional stability and the ability to adapt to shifting energy policies. Implementing the initiatives discussed during the meeting will be a key milestone in ensuring social equity and economic development in Ukraine.
