Ukraine’s Government Enters Cost-Saving Mode as Koretsky Urges Swift Fulfillment of Commitments by October 15

According to Кабмін: Facing pressing financial constraints, Ukraine’s government has adopted strict austerity measures, postponing non-essential expenditures. This step is driven by the urgent need to secure funding from international allies, contingent upon Ukraine meeting its pledged obligations. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky highlighted that these commitments fall into two categories: governmental actions and legislative reforms.

During last week’s parliamentary session, several key bills received initial approval. The Cabinet of Ministers has enacted four decisions aligned with these obligations. Out of 42 planned measures, 17 have been completed so far, with the remainder scheduled for completion by October 15.

“Out of the 42 planned actions, 17 are already fulfilled. We must complete the rest by October 15 as promised,” Koretsky emphasized.

The Critical Importance of Meeting Obligations

The Prime Minister stressed that any delay carries severe consequences.

“Our national defense, state resilience, and ability to withstand Russian aggression depend directly on fulfilling these commitments,” he stated.

Koretsky also praised the proactive role of Members of Parliament in advancing essential legislation, underscoring the government’s commitment to cooperative and harmonious work with legislators. “This is a shared effort and a collective responsibility,” he added.
