The government allocates 936 million UAH for the infrastructure of frontline communities: who will receive the funds
Support for communal infrastructure in frontline regions
The Government of Ukraine is allocating 936.6 million UAH for the support of communal infrastructure in frontline regions. This funding will be received by 100 communities located in nine regions, including:
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Donetsk
- Zaporizhzhia
- Mykolaiv
- Odesa
- Sumy
- Kharkiv
- Kherson
- Chernihiv
Out of this amount, 360 million UAH will be directed to regional budgets, with 40 million UAH for each of the nine regions. The remaining 576.6 million UAH will be distributed among the budgets of 93 territorial communities.
Priorities for spending funds
The priorities for spending the funds are:
- construction and arrangement of primary shelters
- protection of critical infrastructure facilities
- emergency and rescue operations
- repair of engineering networks
- acquisition of specialized transport
- purchase of building materials and fuel
According to Olena Shuliak, these funds are intended to ensure warmth in homes, stable operation of networks, shelters, equipment for communal services, support for people, and local businesses.
This allocation is the first tranche of the planned support for frontline territories, and further funding will occur later. The government continues to work on ensuring stability and the development of infrastructure in regions that most need assistance.
This initiative reflects the efforts of the Ukrainian government to support regions affected by the conflict and to facilitate the restoration of their infrastructure. Funding is directed towards addressing urgent needs in safety and communal services, which can significantly improve the quality of life for residents of frontline territories. Further tranches of funding are expected to help stabilize the situation in regions that require urgent support and development.
