Ukraine Approves $6.3 Million in Bonuses for 20,000 Energy Workers
Bonus Payments for Ukraine's Energy Sector Workers
According to Кабмін: The Ukrainian government has allocated 246.4 million hryvnias (approximately $6.3 million) to provide bonus payments to energy workers who have been repairing critical infrastructure damaged in attacks. These one-time bonuses of 20,000 hryvnias each will be paid for work performed in January, February, and March through a streamlined application process. This financial support comes as these workers perform dangerous, essential duties to keep the country's power grid operational.
Nearly 12,500 workers will receive the payment for January. Energy sector employees will be eligible for identical bonuses for the subsequent months of February and March. The procedure has been simplified: companies submit lists of eligible employees via the Diia government portal, so workers do not need to apply individually.
'The 20,000-hryvnia funds will be transferred directly to the employees' bank accounts. Energy workers will have the right to the same payments for February and March,' stated Yuliia Svyrydenko.
This allocation of additional funds represents a significant government step to support personnel performing critical functions amid the country's recovery from attacks. The simplified payment procedure aims to deliver financial support more quickly, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and positively impact the morale of the energy workforce during this challenging period.
