The government allocated another 3.5 billion UAH for road repairs: where will be restored

The Ukrainian government has made a decision to provide additional funding for the repair of local roads. 3.5 billion UAH from the state budget reserve fund will be directed to restore road infrastructure in the regions. Regional military administrations will receive funds to carry out work on the most important transport routes for communities. This was reported by the Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.

Road repairs in Ukraine will be financed through regional administrations

According to Kuleba, the allocated funds will be distributed among regional military administrations on the terms of co-financing. Financing will be directed to roads that provide daily transport connections between settlements and support local economic activities.

This primarily concerns routes that residents of communities use to get to work, medical facilities, schools, administrative centers, and other important facilities.

The decision for additional funding was made after analyzing the needs of the regions with the participation of regional military administrations, the Restoration Agency, and the Ministry of Finance.

Where will the roads be restored

The specific list of facilities has not yet been published. At the same time, the government emphasizes that priority will be given to roads that are of significant importance for communities, businesses, and humanitarian logistics.

Special attention will be paid to routes that provide access to basic services and help maintain continuous transport connections during the war.

How many roads have already been repaired in 2026

According to the government, since the beginning of the year, more than 14 million square meters of damaged road surface have been eliminated in Ukraine.

Every day about 90 road crews and more than 900 workers are involved in repair works. The work is ongoing in various regions of the country and covers both state and local roads.

The government emphasizes that the state of the local road network affects not only the comfort of citizens' movement but also the stable operation of enterprises, logistics, and critically important infrastructure.

It should be noted that Ukraine has completed the priority elimination of post-winter potholes on national and international roads. The volume of work performed has been the largest during the entire period of the full-scale war, as road workers updated 14 million square meters of pavement.
