Ukraine Revamps Recycling Industry Grant Rules: What Businesses Need to Know
Revisions to the Grant Program for Ukraine's Processing Industry
According to Мін. Економіки: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved significant revisions to the grant program for the nation's processing industry. These changes aim to simplify access to funding by altering the requirements for applicants and modifying verification procedures. The grant program will remain active through 2026, underscoring its strategic role in developing Ukraine's industrial sector. This initiative is part of broader efforts to stimulate economic recovery and attract investment.
Grant Program Outcomes and Key Reforms
Since its launch in July 2022, the program has issued 1,316 grants totaling 6.7 billion UAH. In 2025 alone, businesses received 347 grants worth 1.7 billion UAH. Key reforms now define "related parties" in accordance with Ukraine's Tax Code, focusing on genuine economic and managerial influence rather than formalities. Additionally, applicants will no longer be automatically disqualified if their personal data coincidentally matches that of individuals listed in the corruption register. These adjustments are designed to enhance the program's transparency, fairness, and overall effectiveness.
The government's amendments represent a crucial step in supporting Ukraine's processing industry. By streamlining procedures and removing bureaucratic hurdles, the changes are expected to encourage greater participation from entrepreneurs. This increased engagement should, in turn, drive further investment and foster the sector's growth, contributing to the nation's broader economic resilience.
