Revised Curfew Regulations in Ukraine

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: In response to the ongoing energy emergency, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved adjustments to the nationwide curfew. This move grants regional authorities the flexibility to establish local rules for public access to designated 'Invincibility Points'. The government's primary aim is to safeguard citizens while ensuring they can obtain essential services during widespread power disruptions.

New Guidelines for 'Invincibility Points'

Under the new regulations, these support centers will be accessible 24 hours a day, allowing people to visit at any time. Furthermore, private vehicle travel to and from these locations is now permitted, significantly improving access for those in need. These points are a critical part of Ukraine's civil defense infrastructure, providing refuge during blackouts and attacks on the energy grid.

A wide range of businesses can serve as Invincibility Points, including:

  • Grocery stores
  • Pharmacies
  • Gas stations
  • Service sector establishments
  • Retail and entertainment complexes

Businesses operating as Invincibility Points are authorized to remain open around the clock, guaranteeing residents continuous access to vital goods and services during this challenging period.

“We are not canceling the curfew. These are targeted, controlled measures for the duration of the energy emergency, allowing people to safely reach Invincibility Points and receive basic assistance.”

Oleksii Kuleba, Government Representative

Consequently, the updated rules are designed to foster a secure environment for the population throughout the energy crisis.

Core services that must be provided at every Invincibility Point include:

  • Independent power supply
  • Heating
  • Stable communication links
  • Device charging stations
  • Free hot tea

These provisions are intended to make stays at these centers more comfortable, which is especially important given the unstable energy situation.

The amended curfew rules demonstrate the Ukrainian government's commitment to adapting to complex energy challenges and protecting its citizens. By ensuring flexible access to Invincibility Points, authorities aim to ease the burden on civilians seeking essential resources, thereby strengthening social stability and public support during a difficult time.
