In Ivano-Frankivsk, they do not plan to raise the fare for public transport in the near future. The city authorities acknowledge that the current tariff may not cover all the costs of carriers, but consider it affordable for the residents of the community. This was reported by the mayor Ruslan Martinkiv during his broadcast on the 'RAI' radio.

The fare in Ivano-Frankivsk will remain unchanged for now

The decision not to revise the tariff was made despite rising fuel prices and other costs associated with the operation of public transport. The city authorities did not specify the exact time frame during which the fare will remain unchanged.

«Regarding transport, we currently do not plan to raise prices. Right now, this price may not be fully economically justified, but it is manageable for the residents», - said Martinkiv.

In fact, the city is currently covering the difference between the price accessible to passengers and the costs affecting the operation of transport. At the same time, the mayor did not clarify whether the tariff would need to be reviewed in the event of further increases in fuel prices.

Validators in Ivano-Frankivsk public transport are being installed

Meanwhile, in Ivano-Frankivsk, the installation of validators in all public transport is nearing completion. The equipment aims to standardize fare payment and provide the city with more accurate data on the number of passengers on the routes.

Earlier, the city authorities reported that validators were planned to be introduced gradually, but later decided to install them all at once across all routes. When the system will operate fully, Martinkiv did not specify.
