Odesa Launches Outpatient Rehabilitation Service Worth 4.63 Million Hryvnias Serving 300,000 Residents of Tairova
New Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility Opens in Odesa
According to Рубрика — Суспільство: Odesa’s City Clinical Hospital No. 10 has established an outpatient rehabilitation center valued at 4.63 million hryvnias. This initiative replaced the previously planned inpatient palliative and rehabilitation department, which was estimated to cost 32 million hryvnias. The new service operates within Diagnostic and Consultation Center No. 3 on Lustdorf Highway and aims to provide rehabilitation care for approximately 260,000 to 300,000 residents of the Tairova neighborhood.
Funding and Advanced Equipment
The hospital carried out the facility’s renovation using its own resources, while the city budget primarily funded the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment. This included:
- a virtual reality-based rehabilitation system;
- physical therapy devices;
- equipment designed to treat chronic pain.
During procurement, the purchase of equipment worth 1.7 million hryvnias showed an almost negligible price difference of just 12 kopecks from the expected cost. Additionally, savings of 155 hryvnias were achieved on a 1.32 million hryvnia equipment purchase.
The outpatient rehabilitation project has been registered in the national DREAM monitoring system, although updates on the completed renovation works remain partially incomplete. This report is part of the "Transparent Reconstruction of Housing and Healthcare Facilities: Public Investment Monitoring" initiative, supported financially by the European Union.
The introduction of this outpatient rehabilitation service marks a significant improvement in healthcare accessibility for Odesa’s population, particularly benefiting residents of the Tairova district. It offers modern rehabilitation techniques that can greatly enhance patients’ quality of life.
The combination of municipal funding and EU support highlights the crucial role of international cooperation in advancing healthcare and social services in the region.
As Odesa enhances its healthcare infrastructure with the new outpatient rehabilitation center, attention also turns to the upcoming improvements at the city's burn center. Scheduled for a significant energy-efficient upgrade, this facility aims to better serve the community amidst ongoing funding challenges.
