Ukraine is facing a sharp drop in temperature with frost: when to expect the first frosts

According to glavcom.ua: According to meteorologists' forecasts, only in the eastern regions and Sumy region, a slight rain is possible. The wind will be from the west-northwest at a speed of 7-12 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be between 10-15°, during the day between 19-24°, and in Transcarpathia, Prykarpattia, and Odesa it may reach 27°.

On Saturday, September 20, variable cloudiness, local rain, and gusts of wind are expected in Ukraine. This is reported by 'Glavcom' referencing the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

Temperature regime in different areas

At night, temperatures will range from 6-11°, in the south and west of the country - 9-14°. Daytime readings will be 18-23°, in Transcarpathia, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions reaching 25°. In the Carpathians, it will be warm at 3-8° at night and 9-14° during the day.

In the Kyiv region and the capital, variable cloudiness is expected. Throughout the day, there will be no precipitation. The wind will be northwestern at a speed of 7-12 m/s. The average nighttime temperature will be 10-15°, during the day 19-24°; in Kyiv, thermometers will show 11-13° at night and 20-22° during the day.

Outlook for the end of September

After September 20, cold Arctic air masses will come to Ukraine. In the northern, eastern, and western regions, the first frosts on the ground are possible.

Fewer rains are forecasted - 20-40% below average levels, which may cause drought, especially in the Left Bank. This may increase the risk of fires, especially in regions with insufficient moisture levels.

On Tuesday, variable weather with precipitation in the west and south of the country is expected, where thunderstorms may occur locally. No rain is forecasted in the north and east. Temperatures are reported to be between 20-25° during the day, 10-15° at night.
