Ukraine's Climate Week Returns in 2026
According to Рубрика — Суспільство: From October 5 to 11, 2026, Ukraine held its second annual Climate Week, featuring more than 300 events and attracting around 10,000 participants from 23 regions, including frontline areas affected by ongoing conflict. Key organizers such as Greenpeace Ukraine, Ekodia, Rozvii, the Ukrainian Climate Network, the Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group, Stardub, Fridays For Future, U-Cycle, and the Holosiivskyi National Nature Park revamped the event’s branding and emphasized cross-sector collaboration by creating a dedicated networking chat for attendees.
Wide Range of Activities and Engagement
The 2026 Climate Week offered a rich program of both online and in-person events. Attendees took part in various activities, including:
- educational lessons for schoolchildren
- lectures
- webinars
- competitions
- quizzes
- community clean-up events
- awareness campaigns

Communities near conflict zones were especially active, with educational institutions-schools, universities, lyceums, and colleges-emerging as the most engaged participants.
This year, Ukraine’s Climate Week expanded its scope to include diverse sectors. Its strength lies in uniting people around shared goals and values, even when separated by hundreds of kilometers. Climate Week offers an opportunity to build conditions for a better and more sustainable future for Ukraine, despite the ongoing war.
