In Ukraine, drivers face a six-month license suspension: the reason has been named
Ukraine is currently facing a serious problem in the field of technical inspection of vehicles. The fine for the absence of this mandatory procedure is five times lower than the cost of the inspection itself. For example, for violating this rule, one can receive a fine of 340 hryvnias, whereas independently paying for the inspection in the capital can cost from 1300 to 1600 hryvnias.
Who is the mandatory technical inspection for?
The technical inspection is not mandatory for private car owners; however, it is essential for truck, taxi, bus, and special vehicle owners. Starting from July 2025, the government has introduced full photo and video documentation of the inspection process at all 800 technical control points across the country.
Violating the rules of technical inspection can lead to a temporary license suspension of three to six months, making ignoring the procedure even more risky.
Ukrainians should pay more attention to the rules governing the technical inspection of their vehicles, as even minor violations can have serious consequences for their owners.
