AI Diagnoses Eye Diabetes in 30 Seconds: How Ukrainian Technology Works

Ukrainian medicine actively utilizes new technologies to improve disease diagnostics. One interesting project is CheckEye, which helps detect retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy. Thanks to this, patients have the opportunity to avoid serious complications and vision loss. The initiative has received international recognition, winning the Panacea Award for the best use of artificial intelligence in pharmaceuticals.

Currently, free digital screening is being conducted in Lviv, which anyone can access without a doctor's referral. The procedure is quick, convenient, and maximally effective due to the use of artificial intelligence. In a short period, over 2600 people have utilized this service, and CheckEye is also used for practical training of medical university students.
