Introducing the ‘Office Workers OUT’ Campaign

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: Ukraine has initiated a new campaign called ‘Office Workers OUT’ aimed at identifying and shutting down fraudulent call centers operating across the country. The project offers a reward of 100,000 hryvnias for verified information that leads to the exposure of these scam operations. To participate, individuals must provide an exact location of the call center along with credible evidence of its illicit activities.

Reports from participants are submitted through the dedicated Telegram channel named “Office Workers OUT.” The first person whose tip is confirmed by law enforcement authorities will receive the promised financial reward. Payments are made only after official investigations are conducted and proof is established, which may include police reports, photos, videos, or media coverage.

Participation Requirements and Legal Framework

It is important to note that repeated reports about already known offices, as well as false or fabricated addresses, will not be considered and will not be rewarded. The initiative also encourages insiders-employees working within fraudulent call centers-to come forward by providing internal information, conflict details, documents, or correspondence. Key targets for exposure include:

  • Chief Executive Officers (CEO)
  • Operational procedures
  • Team structures
  • Team leaders
  • Control panels
  • Cold callers
  • Closers involved in scam offices

From a legal standpoint, Ukrainian law addresses participation in criminal organizations under Article 255 of the Criminal Code. This law stipulates punishments ranging from 7 to 12 years in prison for creating or leading such groups, and 5 to 12 years for members, often accompanied by asset confiscation.

The project is funded by Western partners and supported by international law enforcement agencies including the FBI, CIA, NSA, and Europol. The Telegram channel “Office Workers OUT” is active and open for discussions, submissions, and sharing critical information about fraudulent call center operators. A key rule for involvement is being the first to report a scam office with solid evidence. Participants are also encouraged to report suspected call centers directly to the police and document their complaints.

The launch of ‘Office Workers OUT’ reflects growing public concern in Ukraine over the increasing prevalence of fraudulent schemes in the country.

Cooperation with global law enforcement bodies such as the FBI and Europol underscores the initiative’s seriousness and significance. Public engagement is expected to play a crucial role in uncovering and dismantling these criminal call centers, contributing to a safer environment for all citizens.

As Ukraine intensifies its efforts to combat fraudulent activities, it's essential to understand the legal ramifications for those involved in such operations. Recently, the Ukrainian Parliament has significantly raised penalties for fraudulent call centers, implementing harsher consequences that include lengthy prison sentences and asset seizure. This legislative change aligns with the government's commitment to eradicating scams and protecting citizens from financial fraud.
