Fish prices have soared in Ukraine: how much carp, herring, and mackerel cost in July
According to hvylya.net: An analysis of prices in major grocery store chains showed an increase in the cost of almost all types of fish. For example, the price of lightly salted herring increased from 203.84 hryvnias to 212.70 hryvnias per kilogram, depending on the store. Fresh-frozen mackerel also became more expensive, rising from 202.84 hryvnias to 219.05 hryvnias per kilogram, while carp was one of the fastest-growing – the price of live carp increased from 173.63 hryvnias to 192 hryvnias per kilogram, and the price of gutted carp was felt on their own skin as it rose from 220.20 hryvnias to 259 hryvnias per kilogram.
According to the Minfin portal, the price of fish in Ukraine rose in July compared to the previous month. Fish remains a nutritious product, rich in protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins, which is important for strengthening heart, brain, and overall body health.
