In Uzhhorod, 4 bus routes were diverted from June 3 due to road repairs
In Uzhhorod, from June 3, the routing of four city bus routes has temporarily changed due to the ongoing repair work on Karpaty Ukraine Street and the closure of one of the key road sections. As a result, the changes affect both public transport passengers and intercity bus drivers. Uzhhorod City Council reports this.
Street repair on Karpaty Ukraine has changed bus routes in Uzhhorod
Restrictions have been imposed on the section of Karpaty Ukraine Street between the intersections with Maksym Polovyi and Volunteer Streets. Due to the road closure, city buses No. 9, No. 20, No. 24, and No. 156 are temporarily operating on altered routes.
Route No. 9 "Ivan Kotliarevskyi Street – Market Square" and route No. 24 "Dravtsi Microdistrict – UzhNU" no longer pass through Volunteer and Ukrainian Streets. Instead, buses are moving through Maksym Polovyi, Olha Kobylianska, Antonin Dvorzhak, and Andrii Palai Streets in both directions.
Similar changes have been introduced for routes No. 20 "Domanintsi Microdistrict – Market Square" and No. 156 "Vyacheslav Chornovil Street – City Cemetery 'Barvinok'". They also circulate through Maksym Polovyi, Olha Kobylianska, Antonin Dvorzhak, and Andrii Palai Streets.
Two bus stops temporarily closed in Uzhhorod
Due to the change of public transport routes, boarding and alighting passengers have been temporarily suspended at the stops "Military Unit" and "Crossing".
The city council warns that the repair work may cause additional difficulties for suburban, intercity, and international transport, as well as for carriers performing special and irregular flights.
Drivers are advised to bypass the closed section
To reduce congestion and speed up vehicle movement, drivers are advised to plan entry to Uzhhorod and exit from the city via alternative routes through Mykhaïlivska Street and the settlements of Mykhaïl and Rozyvka.
The repair of Karpaty Ukraine Street is part of the work on upgrading the city's transport infrastructure. Until the work is completed, changes in public transport operations will remain in effect.
Reminder, in Uzhhorod, from April 18, new traffic rules have been introduced on certain streets of the city.
