Ticket price 25 UAH: where the highest transportation costs in public transport in Ukraine

The cost of a ride in urban public transport in regional centers of Ukraine varies significantly. In some cities, a ticket costs only 6–10 UAH, while in others, the price reaches 20–25 UAH. This is reported by RBK-Ukraine.

According to research, the highest transportation cost is currently recorded in Lviv. Here, a ride in public transport costs 25 UAH when paid in cash, and about 17–20 UAH when paid cashless.

Transportation costs in Ukraine: where the most expensive rides are

Cities with the highest public transport rates also include several regional centers.

The highest prices for rides are:

  • Lviv - up to 25 UAH in cash;

  • Uzhhorod - 18 UAH by card or 23 UAH in cash;

  • Cherkasy - 16 UAH by card or 20 UAH in cash;

  • Ivano-Frankivsk - up to 20 UAH in private transport;

  • Odesa - about 20 UAH in minibuses;

  • Kyiv - up to 20 UAH in private minibuses.

At the same time, in the capital, the tariff for public transport remains significantly lower - 8 UAH or about 6.5 UAH when paid with a transport card.

Public transport tariffs: where the cheapest rides are

In some cities, public transport remains significantly more affordable.

The lowest tariffs are recorded in the following cities:

  • Sumy - 6 UAH in trolleybuses

  • Kherson - about 6 UAH in electric transport

  • Mykolaiv - 7–8 UAH

  • Kropyvnytskyi - from 8 UAH.

A special case remains Kharkiv - it is the only regional center in Ukraine where public transport is currently free of charge.

In a number of cities, tariff reviews are planned soon. In particular, in Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, and Cherkasy, new prices may come into effect in mid-March.

Recall, on March 14 and 15, 2026, in Kyiv, due to planned food fairs, there will be changes in the routing of several bus routes. The fairs will take place in various districts of the city at the specified addresses. Information about the changes is provided by Kyivpastrans.
