Large-scale privatization in Ukraine: which assets will be sold in 2026–2027
According to Мін. Економіки: On December 9, a workshop organized by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, together with KSE Institute, with the support of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Prozorro.Sales, and the UK government, took place at the Kyiv School of Economics. The event was attended by representatives of the government, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, international partners, business, and the expert community.
The central themes of the discussion were the government’s approaches to large-scale privatization for 2026-2027, the preparation of key assets, and the formation of tools to attract strategic investors.
The Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, Oleksiy Sobolev, emphasized the role of privatization in forming investment trust and modernizing the state sector.
During the discussion involving government representatives, members of parliament, and the State Property Fund, legislative solutions that could expedite the privatization of large objects were discussed. The preparation of assets and assets requiring separate legal regulation or related to the imposition of sanctions was also mentioned.
Business representatives and international organizations shared their experiences working in the Ukrainian market during the war.
The meeting was an important step in the development of the privatization strategy for the coming years, where key aspects were analyzed and priority tasks for the government in this direction were determined.
