Paris Breaks Records for Tourist Numbers: Why the City Disappoints Visitors

A tourist city with long queues
Кількість туристів у Парижі досягла рекордних висот, але багатьом мандрівникам місто не виправдало очікувань.

The problems of our capital are growing due to the excess of tourists! Paris is no longer what it used to be: the luxury and comfort of the city are losing out to the influx of crowds of travelers. Recent research has shown that Paris has become the leader in the number of tourists per square kilometer in the whole world.

Even with numerous monuments that magnetically attract travelers, visitors are increasingly disappointed with their visit to the French capital. Discontented comments about endless queues, the number of pickpockets, and the unfriendly atmosphere in the city have started to appear on the popular tourist portal Tripadvisor.

“If you want to spend a bunch of money standing in line for hours while visiting all these places with thousands of people, come to Paris. The people here are rude, and you cannot safely navigate the metro after 9 PM,” one tourist reported.

This site also features reviews where travelers do not recommend paying money to visit the Eiffel Tower because of the negative impression from the capital's realities.

Overall safety in Europe is confirmed, but pickpockets can be waiting for careless tourists in popular areas of Spain and France. The most crimes have been recorded in Italy.

The number of tourists in Paris has reached such an enormous threshold that the French capital has become the leader in the rating of 'density' of tourists per square kilometer. Visitors complain about queues, pickpockets, and an unfriendly atmosphere that is spreading across the city, which may affect future tourist plans in Paris.
