Donald Trump Jr.'s Bahamas Wedding Backed by Sanctioned Russian Oligarch

According to ХВИЛЯ: In May 2023, Donald Trump Jr. celebrated his wedding on the Bahamas, a lavish event secretly financed by Russian oligarch Umar Kremlyov. Closely connected to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kremlyov is currently subject to Ukrainian sanctions. He covered major expenses, including the rental of two private islands, fireworks, and other costs tied to the three-day celebration.

The cost of renting one of the islands was approximately $100,000 per night, with fireworks adding another $70,000 to the bill. The funds originated from a Dubai-based entity linked to the International Boxing Association, which Kremlyov has led since 2020. The guest list included around 50 people, notable attendees being:

  • Jared Kushner
  • Eric Trump
  • Umar Kremlyov accompanied by a group of Russians

Kushner, recognized as a key U.S. negotiator with Russia on Ukraine-related matters, was also present at the event.

Insights on Russian Ties and Influence

Commenting on the financing, Frank Montoya Jr. remarked,

“If I pay for your wedding, eventually you owe me.”

Another observer, Golden Triplett, added,

“Money has always been a reliable means to gain influence.”

Montoya Jr. emphasized the unthinkable nature of such ties for a president’s son, stating, “For the president’s son, this should be unimaginable. Period.”

Prior to the wedding, Kremlyov traveled to China as part of a delegation accompanying Putin. In 2023, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) stripped the boxing association under Kremlyov’s leadership of its right to oversee Olympic boxing. In January 2025, Kremlyov sent an open letter to then-President Donald Trump, urging intervention against the IOC’s actions.

Additionally, Kremlyov is connected to the organization 'Zdorovoe Otechestvo,' headed by the twin sister of his wife. This group is also under Ukrainian sanctions due to alleged involvement in programs relocating Ukrainian children from occupied regions. In September 2025, the boxing association featured Trump Jr. on a panel in Istanbul, signaling deepening ties between Kremlyov and Trump Jr. within the boxing community.

This revelation sheds light on the intricate relationships between segments of the American elite and sanctioned Russian oligarchs, raising serious questions amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. The fact that Kremlyov funded the wedding, despite sanctions and strained U.S.-Russia relations, underscores potential ethical concerns and possible Russian influence on American political figures. These developments occur against a backdrop of active sanctions, highlighting the risks of conflicting interests moving forward.
