What the Zakhyst+ Mobile App Offers

According to Главком: Ukraine's Ministry of Veterans Affairs has unveiled a new mobile application called Zakhyst+, designed specifically for veterans. The app is part of the 'We Honor Veterans Here' initiative, carried out by the Zakhyst+ NGO with backing from the Ministry and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. It is now available for download on both the App Store and Google Play.

Zakhyst+ helps veterans quickly locate businesses, services, and venues that offer special deals for the veteran community. Additionally, the Cabinet of Ministers has introduced a new feature within the Diia app-the 'Veteran Pro' section-which lets users access data from the veterans' registry and confirm their veteran status through Diia. The electronic veteran ID card has also been updated.

Key Features of the Zakhyst+ App

Users can take advantage of the app to:

  • browse partner venues in their city;
  • find nearby locations using geolocation;
  • view a map of establishments marked with the 'We Honor Veterans Here' badge;
  • claim discounts, cashback, or special offers from partners by showing a QR code within the app to verify eligibility;
  • receive push notifications about new partners and available opportunities;
  • access contact information for support hotlines offering legal advice, psychological help, and other services.
“The app operates under the 'We Honor Veterans Here' project by the Zakhyst+ NGO, supported by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. It helps veterans quickly find businesses, venues, and services that provide special conditions for the veteran community.” - Ministry of Veterans Affairs

To use the app, veterans need to download it from the App Store or Google Play, register, and confirm their veteran status through Diia. After that, they can select a city, browse the catalog of partner locations, visit a venue, and show the QR code in the app to receive a discount, cashback, or special terms from the partner.

The Zakhyst+ app serves as a vital tool for supporting veterans in Ukraine, giving them access to discounts and exclusive offers at partner establishments. This not only provides financial relief but also helps raise public awareness about the needs and rights of veterans. The 'We Honor Veterans Here' project further emphasizes the importance of fostering a culture of respect for those who have defended the country, which can positively shape interactions between businesses and the veteran community.

While the launch of the Zakhyst+ app marks a significant step in supporting veterans, challenges still remain for those with disabilities.
