According to ХВИЛЯ: An explosion rocked a military training ground used by a Special Operations Forces unit of Ukraine's Armed Forces on July 31, causing significant damage to nearby homes and public infrastructure in the Khmelnytskyi urban community. The initial blast triggered further detonations, with shockwaves blowing out windows in adjacent apartment buildings and tearing balcony structures off some residences.

Serhiy Tiurin, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, addressed the emergency and provided initial details. "An emergency occurred today at the training ground of one of the Special Operations Forces units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi territorial community, resulting in an explosion followed by further detonation," Tiurin said.

Tiurin also stated that an emergency response headquarters was established on site immediately, and primary measures to deal with the consequences are underway. Information about casualties and fatalities is being updated. Patrol police have notified residents of nearby residential buildings to remain in shelters. "There is currently information about damage to residential buildings," Tiurin added. Public transport routes in Khmelnytskyi have been changed as a safety precaution.
