From benefits to nurseries: what the new law on family support offers

According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian families can expect greater social benefits for the birth of children, stated Taras Melnychuk, representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine registered bill No. 13532 'On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding Support for Families with Children and Creating Conditions to Combine Parenting with Professional Activities'.

According to Melnychuk, the new law aims to increase the number of born children and help parents combine family life with a career, in particular, by providing support during the postpartum period.

The project includes reforming the family support system during pregnancy and after the birth of a child, including providing assistance of 7,000 hryvnias per month for one child to pregnant women and one of the parents caring for a child up to one year old.

Conclusion

Ukrainian families can expect greater social support regarding child upbringing, especially in the postpartum period, thanks to the new bill which provides for increased payments for pregnant women and parents of infants.
