In Kropyvnytskyi, as of 5 PM on November 3, trolleybus movement, which depends on the overhead contact line, has been halted due to prolonged power outages in the region. Vehicles with autonomous drive will remain on the routes, but the exact number has not yet been disclosed. This is reported by Suspilne.

Kropyvnytskyi Trolleybuses: how the movement has changed since November 3

The head of the city council's press service, Serhii Yakunin, spoke about the restrictions. According to him, the reason is the increased duration of power outages.

The municipal enterprise Elektrotans has on its balance:

  • 42 trolleybuses, of which 21 have autonomous drive;
  • 56 buses.

However, not all 21 autonomous trolleybuses will be on the routes at the same time. These vehicles require recharging, so the actual number of transport will be lower. The city council has not provided specific numbers.

Half of the trolleybus fleet has autonomous drive, but this does not mean that half of the usual routes will be preserved. The number of vehicles on the enterprise's balance differs from the number of transport that carries passengers daily.

Earlier, the city faced a reduction in the number of vehicles due to a shortage of drivers and other workers. Now the situation with electricity supply has added another limitation.

Power outages in Kirovohrad region: what passengers should consider in November 2026

As of November 3, hourly power outage schedules have been introduced in the region by Ukrenergo. Information about them is published by Kirovohradoblenergo.

Autonomous drive allows trolleybuses to continue their trip without power from the overhead contact system, but the energy reserve needs to be replenished. The limited release of such vehicles has been explained in the city council by the necessity of recharging.

The announcement did not provide a list of routes, number of trips, or new intervals. Therefore, passengers should allow extra time for their journeys and check announcements from the city council and carrier before traveling.

The specified time of 5 PM refers to the start of restrictions on November 3. This announcement does not imply that trolleybuses will stop operating every day at this hour.

Problems with power supply affect transportation in other cities as well. Notably, in Kyiv, a suspension of ground electric transport has been announced starting the evening of November 3 and the organization of buses on certain routes.
