Zelenskyy Warns of Arms Supply Disruption

According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed concern that the war in Iran could threaten the flow of weapons to Ukraine. He stated that Ukraine is working to maintain its defensive capabilities by securing stable support from international partners through the spring and summer. This effort involves constant coordination with key allies, including:

  • Germany
  • Norway
  • Italy
  • The Netherlands
  • Sweden

Zelenskyy emphasized that a core objective is to preserve stability in Ukraine, preventing Russia from believing that rising global oil prices and international instability could shift the war's momentum.

'This week's visits were precisely about this – so that in spring and summer we can preserve Ukraine's resilience, Ukraine's strength,'

the President commented. The global security landscape is becoming increasingly interconnected, with conflicts in one region potentially affecting military aid flows to another.

Developing Domestic Air Defense Systems

Ukraine is also advancing work on producing its own air defense systems. Zelenskyy highlighted that the country is actively seeking solutions, such as exchanging interceptor drones for air defense missiles:

'Virtually every day at the political level, at the military level – in communication with partners for air defense. We are seeking anti-ballistic capabilities.'

Key security aspects under consideration include weapons packages, the capacity to produce necessary armaments, and licenses to build an industrial base.

Furthermore, there is a possibility that Russia could exploit a potential Easter truce on April 11-12 to stockpile missiles and drones for new large-scale strikes. Facing this threat, Ukraine continues to strengthen its defensive capabilities and bolster support from allies.

The President's statement underscores the critical importance of international support for Ukraine amid new challenges arising from global instability. Cooperation with allies and domestic weapons production are becoming pivotal factors in ensuring the country's security. Given the escalating situation with Russia, Ukraine must maintain a high level of combat readiness and adapt to a rapidly changing security environment.

As Ukraine navigates the complexities of international military support, it's crucial to understand the developments within its own defense sector. The country is rapidly expanding its capabilities, including the production of advanced drones and exploring new export markets in the Middle East.
