Ukraine Expands Travel Benefits for Combat Veterans
New Travel Privileges for Military Personnel
According to Главком: Ukrainian combat veterans have been granted new travel privileges, which include a free long-distance ticket every two years or a 50% discounted ticket annually. New procedures for issuing these travel passes have been introduced to simplify access to these benefits, alongside a free railway transport program. These measures are part of ongoing efforts to support those who have served on the front lines.
The book of ticket vouchers is now issued simultaneously with the combat participant's ID card. This change is designed to make it easier for service members to exercise their right to free or discounted travel. Starting December 3, the 'Ukrzaliznytsia' app allows users to book up to four journeys totaling 3,000 km, providing greater convenience for military personnel and their families.
'3,000 km Across Ukraine' Initiative
It is worth noting that over 30,000 Ukrainians have already activated the '3,000 km Across Ukraine' program, which provides approximately one million free rail tickets. According to Serhiy Leshchenko, this initiative stimulates the national economy. It offers military personnel and their families the opportunity to travel across the country for free, representing a significant step in supporting this key demographic.
These new provisions underscore the state's commitment to supporting military personnel and their families, especially under the conditions of a prolonged conflict.
Serhiy Leshchenko
The travel benefits can significantly improve access to necessary resources and services, which may positively impact the overall well-being of this population group. The successful implementation of the '3,000 km Across Ukraine' program also indicates a focus on developing national infrastructure and the economy through support for key social groups.
