By Independence Day of Ukraine in 2026, certain categories of citizens will receive a one-time monetary assistance ranging from 450 to 3100 UAH. For most recipients, funds will be credited automatically, however, some Ukrainians will need to contact the Pension Fund with an application. This is reported by the Judicial and Legal Gazette.

Payments by Independence Day 2026: who will receive from 450 to 3100 UAH

The procedure for providing annual one-time monetary assistance is defined by the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 602 dated May 13, 2026, and No. 1396 dated December 27, 2023.

Assistance is provided for war veterans, persons with disabilities due to war, members of the families of fallen Defenders of Ukraine, victims of Nazi persecution, and other categories of citizens.

The amounts of payments are as follows:

  • 3100 UAH - for persons with special merits before the Motherland and persons with disabilities due to war of group I;

  • 2900 UAH - for persons with disabilities of group II;

  • 2700 UAH - for persons with disabilities of group III;

  • 1000 UAH - for combat participants, victims of the Revolution of Dignity, and certain categories of former minor prisoners of Nazi camps;

  • 650 UAH - for family members of deceased war veterans and Defenders of Ukraine, as well as certain categories of widows and widowers;

  • 450 UAH - for participants of the war, former prisoners of Nazi camps, individuals who were forcibly taken to work, and other categories defined by law.

Who will receive payment automatically and who needs to contact the Pension Fund

Pensioners entitled to assistance will have the funds transferred automatically along with their August pension. No application is required from citizens who are registered with the Pension Fund as recipients of housing subsidies or benefits for the payment of housing and communal services, as well as other categories whose information is already in state registries.

War veterans serving in the military will receive assistance through military units, institutions, or organizations where they serve or work.

Citizens entitled to payment but are not pensioners, do not receive housing subsidies or benefits for payment of housing and communal services, and are not serving in the military, must contact the Pension Fund themselves.

Please note that the payment by Independence Day will not be counted as income for social assistance.
