Payments for those killed in captivity: in which cases Ukrainians are awarded 15 million
According to hvylya.net: The Ministry of Defense has expanded the ability to receive financial assistance for Ukrainian families of deceased servicemen. Now they can be awarded 15 million hryvnias in cases where their relatives died in captivity. Parliament has approved the relevant amendments to the legislation that guarantee this support.
The new amendments provide that families of servicemen who died in captivity will receive financial assistance in the specified amount regardless of the cause of death. The deadline for submitting applications for one-time cash assistance in case of injury or illness has also been extended - now this can be done within a whole year.
Practice has shown that due to the prolonged period of treatment and rehabilitation and the presence of the unit in the combat area, it was often impossible for such servicemen to timely obtain all necessary documents and realize their right to one-time cash assistance.
Additionally, the law regulates payments for servicemen who sustained injuries or injuries during service, particularly when changing disability groups. These payments are now calculated based on the living wage, which will simplify the process of obtaining assistance for ATO participants.
The government has expanded financial support for families of deceased servicemen by improving the procedures for obtaining assistance and calculating payments for injured servicemen. This is another step in improving the living conditions of ATO participants and their families.
