Crucial 3-4 Months of War: What the Fate of Ukraine Depends on Until March

According to ХВИЛЯ: The next three to four months are considered crucial for the Russo-Ukrainian war. Viktor Andrusiv, a candidate of political sciences and military analyst, emphasizes that the future fate of Ukraine depends on the resilience of Ukrainian society and the army until March. Andrusiv notes that the war has entered a critical phase, and it is now important which participants in the conflict will show more endurance.

Among the factors affecting the situation, Andrusiv points out:

  • the internal unity of Ukrainian society and the army;
  • the moral state of society in Russia.

He believes that if Ukraine withstands until March, it will deprive Russian President Vladimir Putin of the sense of continuing the war. An important aspect is the fact that about 70% of Russians have lost relatives or acquaintances, which may affect the moral state of society in Russia.

Andrusiv also predicts that in the spring of 2024, Putin will face a choice: risk a collapse by continuing aggression or consolidate the territories already captured.

“In March, he will have a choice: try to bite off the entire Donetsk region to the end and collapse like the Soviet Union, or at least formalize the captures that he has already made,” Andrusiv notes.

These three to four months could become critical for both sides of the conflict. It is important for Ukraine to maintain its resilience, as this may determine the further development of events in the war. The situation remains tense, and each day could impact the final outcome of this prolonged conflict.

A general trend is that the decisive decisions and actions that will take place in the coming months may have far-reaching consequences not only for Ukraine but also for Russia, considering the social and political tension within the country. The internal situation in Russia, in particular, may become a key factor influencing further Kremlin aggression. Thus, Ukraine's resilience during this period may become the basis for changing the paradigm in the conflict.
