Court confiscated a car worth 5.3 million from a former official: details of the investigation

The High Anti-Corruption Court partially recognized the claim of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office as justified, deeming the assets worth over 5.3 million UAH belonging to the family of the former head of the State Tax Service in Odesa region to be unjustified.

The decision states that the case concerns the vehicles 'Toyota Land Cruiser 200', 2018 model and 'Audi RSQ8', 2020 model, which were purchased for 300,000 UAH and 1.4 million UAH respectively. During the monitoring of the lifestyle initiated based on a letter from the State Bureau of Investigation, authorized persons from the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption found that the market value of the mentioned vehicles is significantly higher - over 5.3 million UAH.

The family of the former official sold one of the vehicles - 'Audi', already at market value, using the proceeds to buy a 'BMW X7 xDrive'. After analyzing the income and expenses of the former official and his family, the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption established that it was impossible to acquire the stated movable property from legal sources.
