According to РБК-Україна — Lite: Choreographer Vlad Yama recently shared two photos on his Instagram Stories, drawing a comparison between his life in Ukraine and his current life in America. One image, taken in 2021, shows him at the National Legend of Ukraine award ceremony. The other, captured in the U.S., depicts him hauling a cart of music gear toward a yacht. The stark difference highlights how his circumstances have shifted since leaving his home country. Vlad Yama departed Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the first day of Russia's full-scale invasion. He now lives in Miami with his wife Liliya and their son Leon. In the U.S., Yama stays active by teaching dance workshops and working as a DJ. Liliya has described this period as challenging but remains confident, stating:

In early 2025, fellow choreographer Zhenya Kot revealed that Yama intends to move back to Ukraine. According to Kot, Yama

“believes he will have no trouble living in Kyiv”
