Owners of premium cars have contributed 200 million to Ukraine's budgets: who and how much has been paid

Transport tax from owners of elite cars

According to ХВИЛЯ: Owners of elite cars have paid over 200 million hryvnias in transport tax to local budgets of Ukraine in the first ten months of this year. The total amount of revenue is 200.4 million hryvnias, which is 2.6% more than during the same period last year.

Of these funds, individuals transferred 97.8 million hryvnias, while legal entities paid 102.6 million hryvnias. The largest amounts received were:

• Kyiv - 60.2 million hryvnias
• Dnipropetrovsk region - 18.9 million hryvnias
• Odesa region - 15.8 million hryvnias
• Kyiv region - 14.6 million hryvnias

Tax criteria and car models

The transport tax is paid by owners of passenger cars that meet two criteria: no more than five years have passed since the release, and the average market value exceeds 375 minimum wages. In 2025, 375 minimum wages will amount to 3 million hryvnias. The annual tax rate is fixed - 25 thousand hryvnias for each car. This year, the list of taxed vehicles includes 1362 models of premium cars, among which:

• Aston Martin
• Bentley
• BMW
• Jaguar
• Lamborghini
• Land Rover
• Lexus
• Maserati
• Mercedes-Benz
• Porsche
• Rolls-Royce

Individuals receive a tax notification from the State Tax Service and have 60 days to pay. Legal entities calculate the tax independently and pay quarterly in equal parts.

The increase in revenues from transport tax in Ukraine indicates the stability of demand for elite cars, despite the economic difficulties the country is facing.

This may also indicate an increase in the number of owners of premium cars, which affects the local budget revenues, important for funding social programs and infrastructure projects. Given the planned increase in the minimum wage, further growth in tax amounts is expected in the future.
