Service Disruptions Expected After Massive Strike on Kyiv, Vodafone Warns
Vodafone Ukraine Issues an Alert
According to Главком: Following a large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv on July 2, Vodafone Ukraine has warned that some of its services may experience temporary interruptions. The assault, which targeted the capital, damaged 28 locations. According to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, the attack resulted in 11 deaths and over 30 injuries.
Impact of the Attack
Kyiv came under fire from drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as hypersonic Zircon missiles. The strikes hit energy infrastructure, leaving some residents without power-not just in Kyiv, but also in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions. Vodafone Ukraine stated that customers may currently face temporary issues with certain services, including home internet, account top-ups, and the contact center. The operator urges users to prepare for potential connectivity problems.
The overnight assault on Kyiv is part of the ongoing hostilities, which continue to severely impact the country's infrastructure.
Both the mobile operator's service disruptions and the power outages are compounding the difficulties for residents, especially amid the war. These events highlight the critical need to maintain Ukraine's energy and communication systems during the conflict.
