According to Главком: Diver-sappers from Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) have successfully located and neutralized an explosive device in a lake within the Kyiv region. The object, containing approximately 1.5 kg of explosives, was discovered during a search of the water in an area where a Russian drone was believed to have crashed. This type of operation is a grimly routine task for Ukrainian emergency services amid the ongoing conflict.

The search operation was initiated following an incident on December 27, when a Russian missile struck Lake Telbin in the Bereznyaky district. Fortunately, the strike resulted in no civilian casualties. The divers retrieved the explosive device to the surface for subsequent safe disposal at a designated location.

In a separate but related incident, explosive ordnance disposal teams located a Russian drone with an undetonated warhead in the Boryspil district. In light of these finds, rescue workers are urging the public to exercise extreme caution. They advise anyone who discovers suspicious objects resembling drone parts or munitions to immediately call the emergency number 101 and to leave the handling to trained professionals from the SES.

Rescue officials strongly emphasize that it is strictly forbidden to move, attempt to pull ashore, or dismantle any suspicious items.
