According to Ivan Rudnytsky, the region was under attack by 'shahed' drones all night long. The shelling led to large-scale fires, but preliminary information indicates that there were no casualties.

Rescuers reacted promptly to the situation and extinguished the fires. More than 90 emergency workers and over 20 units of equipment were involved in firefighting. The attack on Volyn was part of a broader campaign, which also affected critical infrastructure facilities in other regions of Ukraine.

Thus, on New Year's Eve, Russian troops attacked the energy infrastructure of Odessa region, and on New Year's night, the targets also included facilities in Zaporizhia, where as a result of the shelling, five civilians were injured, including a 15-year-old boy. These events confirm the growing threat to critical infrastructure in Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict.
