Virtual exhibition 'Anatol Petrytsky. Behind the Scenes'

Behind the Scenes' is now available on the eMuseum platform, dedicated to the little-known artistic legacy of the outstanding artist. This exhibition includes previously unseen works, including the unfinished painting 'Battle on the Kursk Bulge'. The exhibition was created by the National Art Museum of Ukraine in collaboration with several partner institutions, and during the first month, the exhibition can be viewed for free.

The virtual exhibition 'Anatol Petrytsky. Behind the Scenes' opens new dimensions of Anatol Petrytsky's creativity, particularly his artistic legacy that has previously been little known. A significant portion of works not previously exhibited is presented in the exhibition. It covers the period from the artist's early artistic experiments to works from his mature period, including paintings from the 1940s.

Featured Works

Among the works presented are landscapes from various stages of Petrytsky's creativity, including:

• depictions of Kharkiv from the 1930s,
• post-war Kyiv,
• frontline works from 1943.

The unfinished painting 'Battle on the Kursk Bulge' is being shown to a wide audience for the first time, marking an important moment for the study of the artist's work. The exhibition also addresses the Soviet context of his creativity, suggesting that the works be viewed as documents of the era.

The project was worked on by:

• The National Art Museum of Ukraine,
• The Central State Archive of Literature and Art of Ukraine,
• The Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Fine Arts named after V. Vereshchahin,
• The 'Art Arsenal' museum complex.

The virtual implementation of the project was provided by the team of the eMuseum platform, which is a nationwide digital platform for online museum exhibitions.
