Admission to postgraduate studies has been restricted: how the Ministry of Education filtered out evaders
According to hvylya.net: The Director General of the Higher Education and Adult Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oleg Sharov, stated that the admission campaign has become less friendly towards evaders, which has led to a decrease in their numbers in educational institutions. This trend has affected the overall statistics of educational applicants.
'The admission campaign has become maximally unfriendly towards evaders, which is why these categories have decreased in educational institutions. This has also affected the overall statistics of educational applicants,' Sharov emphasized.
Additionally, in 2024, new restrictions for admission to postgraduate studies have appeared, namely, one can only enroll in a full-time study mode and only with state funding. Furthermore, applicants are required to take two additional exams - a general entrance test and an exam in the methodology of scientific research.
The expansion of the number of budget places in the previous year was aimed at attracting talented youth to the scientific sphere, while the new requirements for entrants are designed to prevent individuals who are not interested in scientific activities from passing these exams.
Conclusion
As a result, the admission campaign has become less tolerant of evaders, and the new restrictions and requirements for entrants, aimed at improving the qualification level of applicants and attracting talented youth to the scientific sphere, have led to changes in the admission system to higher educational institutions.
