At Belgrade Talks, Vučić Pledges Support for Ukraine’s EU Path and Announces New Humanitarian Package

He also said he hoped Ukraine would open and close all EU negotiation clusters as quickly as possible.

“We stand behind the UN Charter and UN resolutions, which means upholding the territorial integrity of all UN members - and therefore of Ukraine,” Vučić said.

Diplomatic Avenues for Ending the War

The two presidents also exchanged views on diplomatic instruments that could help bring the war to an end. Vučić assured Ukraine that Serbia would stand by it throughout this process, stressing:

“Everything we can do to help Ukraine along its road to Europe, we will do.”

Zelensky, for his part, thanked Serbia for a new humanitarian package covering medicine and energy.

“We are grateful for Serbia’s new humanitarian support package for Ukraine, especially in medicine and energy. This is very important to us,” he said.

Zelensky’s visit to Belgrade was his first official one to Serbia. The presidents restated their commitment to cooperation in multiple fields, especially EU integration. Their conversation also covered the need for peace in the wider region. “It is important that the whole world knows that we want - and this is the truth, this is a fact - a dignified peace, and that every opportunity be used for peace and guaranteed security,” Zelensky said.
