Svidivska Flying Saucer: How a Fiberglass UFO Became the Village Symbol

In the village of Svidivok in the Cherkasy region, for over 15 years, an object resembling a 'Flying Saucer' has been noticeable. This interesting attraction featuring the flag of Ukraine and illumination from a solar battery attracts the attention of not only local residents but also travelers. According to local resident Vitaliy Chepelukha, people have a very positive attitude towards it, often stopping to take photos. The idea of creating the 'Svidivske UFO' was born when Vitaliy received a fiberglass container for farming from a friend. His nephew saw potential in this container for creating a UFO, and shortly after, he installed a unique attraction along the road. The 'Flying Saucer' has undergone many changes over its 15 years of existence, from threats of dismantling to the appearance of an 'alien' on board. Now, this village symbol is equipped with a solar battery for nighttime lighting. Local residents and guests are still interested in this extraordinary structure, which will celebrate its fifteenth anniversary this year. Everyone passing by the village pays attention to this wonder, which has become a true calling card of the area.
