Starting from April 15, public transport in Zaporizhzhia will be free, but for a limited time

From April 15 to 21, free transport will be introduced in all public transport in Zaporizhzhia. This decision was made to allow residents to easily reach cemeteries on memorial days. As reported by “ZaBor”.

Free transport in Zaporizhzhia: dates and conditions

This concerns a temporary period following Easter when the traditional visits to graves of loved ones occur. During this time, the following types of transport will be free:

• in all types of public transport;

• on all city routes without exception.

The relevant decision was supported at the meeting of the city executive committee. In this way, the authorities aim to reduce the burden on transport and ensure convenient access to burial sites.

Transport movement to cemeteries: what will change

In addition to canceling payment, the city plans to change the organization of transport movement. Specifically:

• increase the number of bus routes;

• adjust routes towards cemeteries;

• update the movement schedules.

New information will be announced additionally on official resources, in transport salons, and at terminal stops.

Previously, the possibility of returning free travel on a permanent basis was discussed in Zaporizhzhia. The city also plans to establish 18 new public transport stops on the Embankment, which should improve transport infrastructure.
